Business Development Officer

Meridian Community Futures is a non-profit, regional economic development organization that provides business and community development services to the west region of Saskatchewan and east region of Alberta, and is based out of Kindersley, Saskatchewan. The Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual for the position of Business Development Officer.

This role will be directly responsible for the Business Investment Fund and will be required to supply technical support and counselling assistance to potential entrepreneurs and existing small businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with the development of business plans including market research and financial forecasting and analysis. This role will provide support and counselling to clients in all aspects of business management and will help entrepreneurs develop solutions for business challenges.

Applicants must have a strong background in lending (particularly development lending), business planning and financial analysis, and be knowledgeable of small business start-up, marketing, and management. Strong organizational, analytical and research skills, and client counselling skills are required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce, rural development, or a related field is required. Entrepreneurial business experience would be a definite asset.

Meridian Community Futures provides a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with an executive position located in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. We provide a great deal of flexibility and a casual work environment. Some local travel is required, on occasion.
