I am so proud to be the Chairperson of Community Futures Meridian. We are such a unique story, as we offer Business Loans, Advice and Support to East Central Alberta and West Central Saskatchewan communities. With over 32 years of history this organization has been part of the 49.3 million dollars invested to help our communities grow and prosper. 656 Businesses have been started, maintained and/or expanded because of loans they have been given.

The real success story is that these businesses contribute to the main streets of rural Canada providing vital business services, employing 2,000 of their neighbours, volunteering in service organizations, donating to schools, churches and recreation facilities.   Small business continues to be the single most powerful vehicle to sustain and grow our communities.    

Community Futures’ strength is it’s capacity to form partnerships, to work with communities to help solve problems and provide training and educational programming supports to enhance board governance, to provide forums that inspire women to venture into the entrepreneurial arena, support financial literacy for our regional youth and we send on average 6 youth to business camp each year.  

With a staff driven to assist entrepreneurs and communities and a dedicated and inspired Board of Directors from across our region; we continue to evolve and work towards a model of entrepreneurship programming that meets the needs of today’s inspiring business owners.
